Kimberly "Kym" Butler-Spires currently serves as the Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for ANC 6A02 in Washington, D.C. A former federal grants executive and U.S. diplomat, she brings extensive experience in public policy, community engagement, program oversight, and government accountability.
Commissioner Butler-Spires has spent her career at the intersection of public service and community empowerment. Her background in federal government and international diplomacy gives her a unique ability to navigate complex systems — and cut through them — on behalf of 6A02 residents.
As a former federal grants executive, Kym oversaw the management of significant public resources, developing the skills in program oversight and government accountability that she now applies directly to her work as your ANC Commissioner. She knows how government money flows — and how to make sure it flows to our neighborhood.
