Kym believes that the most important job of an ANC Commissioner is simply to show up. That means attending community meetings, responding to resident concerns promptly, and being a consistent voice at DC Council hearings, zoning reviews, and agency meetings where decisions about our neighborhood are made.

Public safety is a top concern for 6A02 residents. Kym supports a comprehensive approach that includes working closely with MPD's 5th District, supporting community-based violence prevention programs, improving street lighting and infrastructure, and ensuring that residents have a voice in how public safety resources are deployed in our neighborhood.

ANC 6A02 sits in one of DC's most dynamic development corridors. Kym is committed to ensuring that growth serves existing residents — through strong community benefit agreements, affordable housing requirements, and meaningful input on zoning and permitting decisions. She will use her experience in government oversight to hold developers and city agencies accountable.

• Negotiate strong community benefit agreements for new projects

Local businesses are the backbone of our community — they deserve a champion at the ANC.

Drawing on her background as a federal grants executive, Kym understands how to connect small businesses and entrepreneurs to the resources they need to thrive. She will work to reduce bureaucratic barriers, connect local businesses to DC and federal grant programs, and advocate for commercial corridors that reflect the character and needs of 6A02 residents.

Clean streets, green spaces, good schools, and reliable city services — the basics matter.

Residents of 6A02 deserve a neighborhood that works. Kym will be a persistent advocate for timely city services — from trash collection and pothole repair to park maintenance and school resources. She will use her relationships with DC agencies to cut through bureaucracy and get things done for residents who have been waiting too long.
